The Damage Sorceress

A thin, latino woman emerges from safety of the city, wandering into the lush fields, seemingly uncaring about all the evil that surrounds her. The demons lurking about think this a delightful opportunity to make their move, and prepare to strike this poor, defenseless creature...

When, without warning, the woman utters a battle cry, drawing forth a massive blade, and uttering ancient ruins in an enchanting, powerful voice. In an instant, flames engulf her blade, electricity bristles around her, and the air chills as she moves. The demons pause, wary of this now formidable foe, before turning to run, only to fall to the ground, wracked with crippling pain as electricity shoots up their legs. The woman approaches, a smile on her face, as she begins the massacre...

This is the legend behind the Damage Sorceress, or any Melee Sorceress, in the world of Diablo II. Between the frail appearance, and the lack of melee skills, they will often be regarded as the solely-casting class, when, in reality, they prove stronger than any other foe on the field, at close range.

Damage Sorceresses are a new build to Diablo II, only being employable since the release of the 23-new Ladder Season 2 runewords, in December of 2004. Using the awesome power of Dream, which gives her use of the Paladin's Holy Shock aura, coupled with her own Masteries, this Sorceress has proven to be both viable, and insanely destructive. Factor in Enchant, and you've officially got a winning combination that can slay single-immune monsters, and avoid being absorbed in duels.

However, to be this effective, like most builds in the Diablo II world, they are not cheap. Many hours need to be put into the game, both for the building of this character, as well as to suit her up with the superior garbs she requires.
